DANCE AS IF NOBODY IS WATCHING
We are excited to welcome the extraordinary Spanish-born Flamenco dancer Maria Osende back to King’s Theatre. The Saturday night performance will include members of Maria’s Halifax-based company, as well as Flamenco singer Joyce Saunders and Flamenco Guitarist Daniel MacNeil. Not to be missed!
Maria’s personal and unique artistic voice complements her deep knowledge of flamenco, ballet and contemporary dance. Her solo and company work is engaging and impeccably produced. Her vision is one of flamenco as an open artistic form that is powerful and relevant in today’s world, and that can communicate with audiences everywhere.
In 2015 , Osende was awarded with the “Established Artist Recognition Award” by Arts Nova Scotia and the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council.
Special to this event will be Two Workshops and a Flashmob! Sponsored by King’s Theatre and The Company of Angels, the workshops are free, but space is limited, so call the Box Office to register.

Come learn Maria’s original flamenco flashmob dance! Maria Osende will teach anyone interested a simple and fun flamenco-flavoured dance routine along with a few simple flamenco dance steps and clapping rhythms. No experience required. - Flamenco Flash Mob at the Farmer’s Market! – Saturday September 15 at 10:00am
Joined by members of her Flamenco Company and Friday’s workshop participants, Maria will appear for a quick “flash mob” at the Farmer’s Market in Annapolis Royal on Saturday morning. This event will give a quick preview of the stage performance scheduled for later that evening. Catch it if you can!
